Pictures Disappearing...
Around the blogosphere you've most likely noticed pictures disappearing from blogs. Apparently not only is the plagiarism issue huge and filling the court rooms, but also the copyright on photos as well.
I've started deleting my photos, as you might have noticed if you were going back a few months on the blog. I don't want to be sued. At all. : )
My question to this though would be, if someone is citing the source of the picture, providing a link and explaining where they got it, wouldn't the owner of the copyright do better than to demand it be taken down? I know I would.
I'm not sure what we're doing online, if not to promote ourselves and others. Do you have a reason I can follow on why the sudden freak out over photos?

Through the Flames - Time!
It's up! My awesome 2nd book of the Into the End series - Through the Flames is up.
I'm so excited.
After writing, losing sleep, sending to critique partners, revising, sending to beta readers, and copyeditors, I have my beautiful book. So excited. I hear it's a bit twisted - hence the lack in the sleep.
What do you think?

What Makes a Good Cover Artist...
Is the reader insider her or him. I haven't known Ashley Byland long, but what I do know amounts to a dedicated mother, reader, reviewer, and cover artist. I'm actually in the process of writing a book just so I can have her design the cover. She's that awesome.
I asked Ashley to write up a paragraph about what she likes about books and why she reviews them and enjoys cover design. I have to say I love her answer.
To contact Ashley for more information on her book covers (unbelievably affordable!) and more, go to: http://ramblingsofaredbird.blogspot.com/
Without further stalling, let's hear from Ashley.
To me, reading a book is an escape and you know you are reading a good book when you can escape even if you have chaos all around you. For me, even if I can get 5 minutes of reading in while my son is eating and still get lost in a book that is a good book and that is the reason I review books; besides loving to read of course. Everyone has their opinions on the different books that they read, but there are a lot of books people never consider or even know about, and that is my goal by reviewing books. I want to bring awareness to some of the amazing books I read and help get them more exposure. The same idea applies to book covers, at least for me. If a cover grabs your attention, it has done its job. A cover should intrigue you to want to pick up that book and buy it, or at least read what it is about. This is also why I make book covers. There are plenty of books out there that do not get the attention they deserve because their cover is lack luster. Every book deserves a great cover, and that is my why I love making book covers.
Here are some examples of her awesome book covers.
Hellbound by Berinn Rae

Bitterly Beloved by Saleana Rae
Eternity by Elizabeth Sogard
