Rebecca Zanetti - And GIVEAWAY!

Rebecca Zanetti

Genre(s): Paranormal and Romantic Suspense

Titles: FATED (2/22/21), CLAIMED (10/25/11), HUNTED (spring 2012) all from Kensington Brava

Website: www.rebeccazanetti.com

Blog: http://rebeccazanetti.com/blog-2/

State/Country you live: Pacific Northwest, USA

1. Favorite book ever read: Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenter by J.D. Salinger. It’s a goofy novella about a guy on the way to a funeral, but somehow it all makes sense. Salinger was able to put concepts on the written page that most of use couldn’t even articulate in a conversation. I love that story.

2. Do your characters have a “fate”? Or do they get to choose where their story goes? Both. Fate plays a possible part (hence the title FATED), but ultimately the characters choose their own paths.

3. Which character would you sit down and have a meal with? What would you have? What would they have? I’d probably sit down and have a meal with Moira, my heroine from HUNTED. She’s a hundred year old witch who ends up fighting both destiny and fate to follow her own path. She’d probably have some type of Irish stew and I’d have salmon. Or some sort of pasta dish.

4. Would you rather do a reading of your work to a group of nudists you don’t know or read to your friends and family in the nude? Oh, I would so like to read to a group of nudists. Can you imagine the blog posts I’d come up with after that one?

5. How do you come up with ideas (don’t you hate this question?)? I’m not sure. Ideas are everywhere. I usually visualize a first scene – a how they meet type of scene – and then write it. The book takes off from there and usually I have no idea where we’re going until we get there.

6. Describe your office in three words or less… Whimsical, organized and comfortable.

7. What's something not many people know about you? Every time I go to a hotel (any hotel) I HAVE to order mac'n'cheese from room service.

Game of Would You Rather…

… be rich and famous and sell mediocre books or be average paid and a respected name that reviews acclaim? Neither. I just want to write a really, really good story. Then I want to write a better one.

… shake up a can of pop and open it in a group of people or go for a Polar Bear plunge? I’d rather take the polar bear plunge.

… eat 10 pounds of raw carrots or half a pound of raw fish? Raw carrots. Definitely raw carrots.

… hug a stranger or slap a friend? Hug a stranger.

… pray in public or not at all? Pray in public.

FatedFATED will be released on 02/22/11.

MARRY ME

Cara Paulsen does not give up easily. A scientist and a single mother, she’s used to doing whatever it takes to protect her daughter. But “Whatever it takes” has never before included a shotgun wedding to a dangerous stranger with an attitude problem…

OR ELSE

Sure, the mysterious Talen says that he’s there to protect Cara and her daughter. He also says that he’s a three-hundred-year-old vampire. Of course, the way he touches her, Cara might actually believe he’s had that long to practice…

***Ms. Zanetti had me at Vampire with genetic issues!  FATED is a completely different take on the Vampire genre and well worth a visit! I guarantee you'll be hooked!

And one lucky commenter will win a signed copy of FATED!  You are so lucky!

Thank you so much for coming Rebecca!  Your answers were fun and unique.  Good luck to you!

  3. Hi Jamie! Well, the first sex scene is pretty hot and I enjoyed writing it. :) And there's a scene later on in the book where the very Alpha hero shows his sweet side that still makes me smile. Thanks for dropping by today!

  6. Hey, Rebecca! After visiting your website and reading your blog posts, I am really revved about "Fated"! It sounds like a fabulous beginning to a great, imaginitive, inventive new series! Best wishes for much success : )

    Gran's Mac & Cheese

Boil 16oz elbow macaroni in large pan of salted water until slightly undercooked. Drain pasta quickly so that it will not continue to cook in hot water. Butter a 13in by 9in baking pan. Layer pasta with at least 16oz grated sharp cheddar cheese (sharper the better). Feel free to be very cheesey! Pour one pint of half-and-half or heavy cream over pasta and cheese. Add some whole milk if needed to bring liquid to top of pasta and cheese. Dot with slices of real butter and a very light sprinkle of coarsely ground black pepper. Liberally top off with grated Parmesan cheese. Cover pan with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Let Mac & Cheese set in covered pan for 10 minutes before serving.

Comfort food from Gran herself : )
